Tracking & Privacy

In-App GPS Tracking

WHEN WE TRACK

Tracking is only active during scheduled race events. It starts automatically 15 minutes before the race and stops 15 minutes after you finish.

WHAT WE COLLECT

During tracking, we collect your GPS coordinates, battery level, and battery usage. Each data point includes a timestamp and is associated with your race and racer profile.

SERVER TRANSMISSION

Location data is transmitted in real-time to our secure servers for live race monitoring. The data is encrypted in transit and stored on servers hosted in the EU.

DATA USAGE

Your tracking data is used exclusively for live race monitoring and safety purposes. Race organizers can view your position in real-time. Data is deleted after a defined retention period.

YOUR CONTROL

You can disable Auto-Start Tracking at any time from the home screen. When disabled, no data will be collected or transmitted.

Website Visitors

WEBSITE VISITORS

Our websites (red-racecontrol.com and reg.redrc.eu) do not use analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies. We do not track your browsing behavior. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, access time) are collected automatically by our hosting providers for security and operational purposes and are retained for up to 30 days.

CONTACT & COMMUNICATION

When you contact us via email or WhatsApp, we process your message and contact information to respond to your inquiry (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR — performance of contract or legitimate interest). We retain correspondence for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and meet legal retention obligations.

HOSTING & SUBPROCESSORS

Our marketing and registration websites (red-racecontrol.com, reg.redrc.eu) are hosted by Vercel Inc. (San Francisco, CA, USA) for edge delivery and server-side rendering. Vercel processes requests in data centers worldwide; data transfers outside the EU are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). The RaceControl app backend and race data are hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH on servers located in Germany and Finland (EU). Hetzner operates under a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) in full GDPR compliance.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address listed in our Imprint. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
